Removing crimps from a housing is a real pain when you don’t have the right tool. You can ruin the crimp or the housing and sometimes both. This is a basic tool for removing crimps from the 4 pin standard molex housing. All it needs to do is to be slid around the crimp and then the wire can be pulled out of the housing. The two ends are different sizes. The larger size is for the female crimp (male housing), while the smaller size is for the male crimp/female housing:
The length of the extractor can be varied with the two hex screws, however there is no need to adjust it. I’m not sure that it’s necessarily any better than any other molex removal tool, but it’s certainly heaps better than trying to use a tool that isn’t designed for this specific job.
