Performance – 3/5

The Susurro performs best at lower speeds.  At high speeds it’s simply not efficiently pushing air anymore.

Noise – 1/5

The Susurro is certainly not a whisper.  This fan at full speed is *loud*, particularly when you factor in how little air is being pushed.

Value – 4/5

At $15 these are not bargain basement fans – but there are some nice details.  The fan is sleeved and comes with extra anti-vibration sleeves and mounting bolts.

Features – 4/5

At this point in time I’d expect these fans to be PWM.  PWM is the future, and a voltage controlled fan this loud will therefore need a real fan controller. The sleeving and black wiring was great though and the anti-vibration extras are awesome.  Having some built in LED’s would be the next step

Quality – 5/5

Nothing to complain about here.  The finish was excellent.

Summary

The Susurro does a lot of things right but it’s let down as soon you actually turn it on.  It’s downright loud, and the airflow isn’t high enough to justify that noise.  This is sad because the Susurro works quite well at lower speeds and we can’t help but think that setting the max RPM at 1700RPM was a mistake.  1200RPM and below would have been a much better target.
