XSPC RX V3 Tech Drawing

Dimensions Measured on the radiator tested (retail unit):

rx2

Radiator Core Dimensions:

rx3

The RX V3 has a medium density fin count of 14 FPI (fins per inch) which was measured in numerous places on the core. The fin spacing is very even up and down the tubes. One thing which stood out was that the RX V3 has the lowest tube count (9) of the 14 solder tube type radiator in the test group. So I suspected that this core design (tuning) would result in its thermal performance favoring low fan speeds while having very low restriction.

Finish and Features

The RX V3 has matte black finish and my sample had no blemishes, in fact I was prepared to call it perfect. It feels weighty and solid. All round the RX V3 looks and feels like a quality unit.

The XSPC log is stamped into both edges.

Something that I noticed unusual was the depths allocated to the internal shrouds (the space between the fan mounting surfaces and the radiator core).  The side without the ports was just 4 mm, while the port side was allocated a more reasonable 6mm.

To me it would have made more sense to have the core placement central to the radiator housing. This would avoid any bias towards fan mounting and orientation in the chassis and the potential performance loss from larger “dead spots”. In my testing it is not of consequence because we are running push/pull fans, but is something to consider.

There are 4 ports on the RX V3 to choose from, pretty much the minimum we should expect from a radiator these days. Each of the ports was plugged to keep moisture out after manufacturing.
