As with all Alphacool radiators, there is a protective plate to help prevent damage to the core from using wrong length screws when installing fans – there is 5mm of margin between the top of the thread and the protective plate. These are a great idea and a feature that more manufacturers should incorporate.
The ports options are excellent, having a choice of horizontal or vertical placement of fittings when installed in either orientation. Unlike the larger UT60, the XT45 did not have a bleeder port on the opposite end which is very handy for vertical installations.
