Pros:
– Compact keyboard with mechanical switches
– Price – at $65-80 this is one of the most affordable TKL keyboards
– Great software support and cloud syncing of settings
– Stylish look and solidly built
– Carrying bag
Cons:
– Razer’s Green switches feel like a downgrade from last year’s MX Blues
– USB cable connector at the keyboard feels a bit flimsy and sticks out awkwardly
– No USB hub, headphone/mic jacks
– No LED backlighting
Summary
Overall a great keyboard – in fact so good we bought a second one. While the change of switch feels like a slight downgrade the fact is that this remains a very good and competitively priced keyboard. The missing features are barely missed because they would only be used by a few and would push the overall price up. If you can get hold of last year’s model though then I would, but otherwise Razer’s new switches are still very good. For these reasons we give the 2014 Tournament a silver award (the 2013 would get a gold)! Video review at the bottom.
