Audio Technica have been long known for their headphones.  Last year they got into the gaming headset market for the first time with two high end designs.  This year they added two more:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAs you can see there is an inline volume control with mute button.  There is also a cable that has two 3.5mm jacks instead for easier connectivity.  Bear in mind this is just single 44mm drivers, so the spacial location of sounds for gaming is entirely at the mercy of your game and soundcard.  The more advanced 7.1 style headphones take this into their own domain and control it independently.  Therefore while we expect these to be good at music and of high quality in general, we don’t expect them to be the best choice for competitive FPS play where your ears are another sense to be used to precisely locate where your competition is positioned.
