As the base panel is shared with the S8 case, then the 240 radiator mount is still available, and it can be covered with the included HDD cage and mounting plate:
A second cage can be added for another $25. The HDDs can only be mounted in this “front to back” orientation meaning that accessibility to the HDD cables is limited, particularly if both cages are used. It would be much better if the cages could be rotated so that the cabling ran along the outside of the case. What looks tidy for a normal case is less functional for a test bench.
Optionally if the HDD rack is not used *and* the power/reset plate is not used then a 360 side mount accessory can be used (which is free if you don’t want the HDD rack) and it fits as shown in this picture (taken by CL):
However one of the nice and unique accessories for the Test Bench are the “external” radiator mounts. These are very similar, but instead of the radiator being mounted inside the case it will stick outside the case:
The side shown is the side that mounts to the case. The center hole is for a locator peg which helps to quickly position the mount while it’s secured with 4 philips head thumb screws. As it’s hard to turn these screws with your thumbs there are holes to use a screwdriver. These mounts can be attached to either the top level or the lower level of the case:
The mounts also work on both sides of the case, meaning that you could easily fit 4×360 radiators without using a pedestal or taking away hard drive or PSU space. There is no other tech bench that I know of that can do this! Of course mounting the radiator on the upper level does make it a bit harder to access the board:
However there is still room to get cables through to the motherboard:
There is also room for fittings/tube to come through the mount into the case.
