Keyboard, Audio and Video
The keyboard has a really nice feel to it and is quite easy to type on for being a laptop. The chiclet style is great because the keys aren’t crammed together and you end up pushing multiple keys if you have bigger fingers. Instead of opting for the classic function keys across the top, Samsung has saved you the trouble of remembering the shortcuts and simply label the buttons with what they do. The speakers, despite being tiny and only 1.5W each are loud and clear. Listening to a variety of of quality sounds from YouTube, SoundCloud, Pandora and Netflix I was not let down by the audio at all. Video performance is however lacking a little. Depending on how many tabs you have open 720P videos on YouTube can stutter a little if they aren’t the open tab. 1080P YouTube videos and files aren’t very enjoyable to watch.
Summary
Overall, the Chromebooks are limited in functionality but they make up for that in affordability and portability. For being away from my desktop for four months now, and another four months to come, I do not regret purchasing the Chromebook one bit. It has served me well and will continue to do so when I return from my travels and have to do troubleshooting or upgrading to my desktop.
