Conclusion

Overall Indigo Xtreme is a great TIM.  This review doesn’t really compare it against other TIMs thoroughly – for that I would suggest checking out Skinnee’s 2011 TIM roundup.  However we do see just how good it is at rejecting poor mounts and poor bow combinations.  We also see how much larger that effect can be than the choice of waterblock.  During the course of my testing I did about 40-50 Indigo Xtreme applications.  I’m very comfortable now with the process and do believe that my success is easily repeatable if you follow the directions. This is not for a first time PC builder or a bencher who changes cpu or block every other day, but if you’re comfortable with watercooling you shouldn’t be afraid to give it a try!

Gold Award – The best if you can handle it!

  1. Hello John, nice to meet you I about to start up my system and I want to use the Indigo Extreme, and after watching your video I’m with some doubts about the reflow method to my rig, I have a full water cooled system with 2 VGAs ( radeon R9 280x) , CPU ( Delided 477k with CLU ), MotherBoard (Maximus VI Extreme) and aquaero 6xt to be cooled by the Water Cooling system so my doubt if I startup my system with the pump off this will not cause some problem to the components by overheating them ? and another doubt my case its a Cosmos II so it works vertically for the first turn on to reflow the Indigo Extreme it needs to be horizontally?

I hope you can help me, thanks and congrats for the very nice site you have.
